What is Power Flushing?
Power flushing is the process of removing or ‘flushing out’ accumulated deposits of black iron oxide, often referred to as ‘sludge’, that can be found in your central heating system.
Power flushing will help maintain the health of your system, making it more efficient. It will also help save you money, by avoiding the need for expensive repairs. If left untreated, the build up of black iron oxide can lead to very high fuel bills and expensive parts may need replacing.
The Power Flush process is quite simple and is normally completed in one day for residential properties, taking slightly longer for larger, commercial buildings.
- Firstly we connect our Power Flush units to your pump or radiators.
- The Power Flush machine will then cleanse the system by flushing it through with powerful chemicals and rust inhibitors, which will loosen the sludge.
- This is then passed through our Magnaclean magnetic filter, which will remove the black sludge, making your central heating system work much more efficiently.
- Once the process is complete, you will be left with clean radiators and pipes, allowing unrestricted circulation of heat and hot water.
Why should you power flush you system?
Over a period of years, the build up of black iron oxide can have many detrimental effects on a hot water central heating system. If left untreated, the ‘sludge’ will continue to accumulate, eventually blocking the pipes.
Blocked pipes will prevent the radiators from distributing heat effectively around a building. This will require your central heating system to work harder, and in turn, your heating bills will increase.
